Small payload robots specially designed for the food, electronic, packaging and pharmaceutical industries are extremely easy to program and have removable hand-held teach pendent.
A new range of small payload robots specially designed for the food, electronic, packaging and pharmaceutical industries has been launched by KUKA Automation + Robotics. The KR5 range, the latest addition to KUKA's high-speed, low payload series, comprises fast, high accuracy models which are capable of handling payloads between 5kg and 10kg. The new robots are available in either 4-axis SCARA or 6-axis ROBOT versions, which are all suitable for mounting either on the floor or ceiling.
They are extremely easy to program thanks to KUKA's well-established, PC based control.
The new range has the added benefit of having a removable hand-held teach pendent.
The control can also incorporate a variety of conveyor and vision software technology packages while the robots can be supplied in a choice of arm lengths from 650mm-850mm.
KUKA also offers models in the range that can be adapted to ensure that they are not only dust and splash proof but are also suitable for use in clean room environments.
'These new robots combine a slim design with high speed and power, making them ideal for use in a wide range of applications especially in the food and pharmaceutical sectors,' commented Paul Richards, general sales manager.
The debut of the new KR5 robots coincides with the launch of KUKA's new vision software which can be embedded into a PC-based controller for a seamless interface between the robot control and the vision system.
The new software means the operator can program the robot directly from the KUKA control without the need for an intermediate PC, ensuring programming is even easier.
