Robotics Trends and IDG World Expo today announced the opening of the second annual RoboNexus Conference and Exposition, once again making Northern California and Silicon Valley the international center of the robotics world. The RoboNexus Conference and Exposition, North America's largest event for intelligent, mobile robotics technologies, is being held at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA on October 6-9, 2005. The conference website is http://www.robonexus.com.

According to Dan Kara, conference chairman, President and Co-Founder of Robotics Trends, "The inaugural RoboNexus Conference and Exposition, held in October 2004, attracted more than 10,000 attendees over three days, making it one of the largest new conferences of 2004. The 2005 RoboNexus event is bigger, better and more exciting, offering more speakers, sponsors, exhibits, demonstrations and competitions over the next four days. The expansion of the RoboNexus event over the last year attests to the growth of the intelligent mobile robots market as a whole, and announces to the world that a completely new, multi-billion dollar technology industry has arrived."

According to Eliot Weinman, CEO and Co-Founder of Robotics Trends, "We are delighted with the rapid development of the intelligent, mobile robotics industry, which is reflected in the expansion of the RoboNexus Conference and Exposition. Like the market itself, RoboNexus has both a consumer and business-to-business components to it, and as such it attracts many different attendee types. This is the event's greatest strength and the primary reason for its' success."
