EastPack shows off: special pavilions, conferences and hundreds of exhibits target your packaging business

Known for its great entertainment and savvy business markets, New York City will host the EastPack show at the Javits Convention Center on June 13-15. Billed as the East Coast's broad-based packaging show, EastPack covers all aspects of packaging products; it is not just a services expo of a machinery show. Exhibitors at EastPack will showcase supplies (such as closures and labels), containers, machinery and equipment, services and materials (including films and paperboard).

EastPack is one of a family of regional packaging trade shows produced by event manager Canon Communications LLC. Together, EastPack, SouthPack, MidPack and WestPack allow Canon to tailor each show to the specific needs of its local audience.

For EastPack, that means a focus on pharmaceuticals and medical products to match the strong presence of drug companies in the northeast U.S. The show is again co-located with the MD&M East show, which presents the latest in medical design and manufacturing. Your EastPack badge lets you enter MD&M East, as well as the three other relevant co-located shows: Automation Technology Expo; Atlantic Design & Manufacturing; and PLASTEC East.

On Tuesday, the MD&M East conferences will have eight sessions on medical packaging trends and technologies. If you register for the conferences by May 16, you'll get the Early Bird discount. And, with every three paid attendees, a Medical/Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Packaging--These exhibits will show products and services for prescription and over-the-counter drugs; vitamins and supplements; and medical products. Among the offerings will be medical-grade materials and supplies; blister packs; testing and inspection systems; labelers; bar coding equipment; sterilization services and more.

* Cosmetic & Personal Care Packaging--Competition in these markets is pretty, all right--pretty fierce. These exhibitors will feature products designed to help you differentiate your brands, such as stylized containers; specialty labeling; creative design services; closures; colorants; and a host of other accessories.

* Material Handling & Logistics--Warehousing and inventory management systems; conveyors; palletizers and other robotics are among the products on display in these booths.

* Enterprise Technology--Information technology has become a key component for effective supply chain management. * Ingredients--The product development cycle often starts with innovations in raw materials. Leading ingredient suppliers from the food, beverage, nutraceutical and personal care markets will be available to discuss your R&D or product development project.
