50kg intelligent robot manages heavy duty cycles

An 'intelligent' robot with 50kg capacity has a slimmer arm, a heavier duty wrist capable of inertias 2.6 times higher, a wider work envelop and a host of intelligent control options.
FANUC Robotics has introduced a new 50kg intelligent robot to its range aimed at heavy duty cycle applications. The M710iC series comprises two ruggedly designed arms with short and long reach arm options. The new arm supercedes the 45kg M710iB and gets upgraded with an increased payload, a slimmer arm, a heavier duty wrist capable of inertias 2.6 times higher, a wider work envelop, IP 67 option pack for aggressive environments and a host of intelligent control options.

The short arm version, the M-710iC/50S is compact with a 1.36m reach, making it ideal for load and unload of heavy parts in confined spaces.

Its high speed wrist and ability to flip over allows it to meet demanding cycle times for tending multiple machine tool cells.

The long reach 2.05m version, with its high inertia capability wrist, makes handling large components and fixtures at speed, straight- forward.

The ability to withstand high loads to the wrist makes the arm suitable for de-burring and polishing applications.

When used with the intelligent control options and sensors , including the FANUC FS30 force sensor and FANUC V500iA vision system, the M710iC/50 provides a cost-effective solution to complex tasks including fettling and sealing.

When working with another robot, using FANUC's DualArm control, it is ideal for holding and positioning large heavy items replacing the function of a dedicated and costly work positioner.
